Dr. Stephen WangenThis story comes from a recent patient of the IBS Treatment Center. Her name has been changed to protect her privacy.

Stacy came to the IBS Treatment Center because she had terrible abdominal pain and bloating. She hadn’t been able to enjoy being outdoors or her favorite hobby (gardening).

Stacy was especially anxious because even wearing a seat belt was causing her a lot of discomfort, not to mention just being stuck in a car.

It was so problematic that she would regularly go without a seat belt, which is certainly not advisable. Her first goal was to feel well enough to be able to wear her seat belt.

After working with Stacy, doing the proper testing and follow up work, she is now feeling much better and can finally drive comfortably and do it in a much safer manner, because she is comfortable wearing her seat belt again.

She is also happier (ecstatic actually!) that she can now do some gardening again and is looking forward to much more in the future!
