If you’ve had much experience with IBS then you know the typical recommendations – deal with stress, eat more fiber, remove some foods from your diet, etc. Although stress is occasionally the cause of IBS, most of the time it is not. The use of fiber products and generic dietary changes may help with symptoms, but they generally don’t cure IBS and often don’t work at all. And drugs almost never cure IBS.
